A World Reads’ Initiative

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) has made a significant impact. Since the launch of its “A World Reads” Initiative MBRL has donated over 40,000 books to various governmental, educational institutions, and libraries.

Additionally, more than 5,000 books covering diverse subjects have been contributed to 11 new educational complexes located in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Plans continue to distribute 5,100 more books in the near future.

MBRL’s overarching vision is to make knowledge accessible to the public. This ongoing effort is aligned with the library’s mission to foster a culture of reading and knowledge dissemination among all segments of society.

“A World Reads” is more than just an initiative; it’s a commitment by MBRL to support the educational and cultural sector in the UAE. The initiative epitomizes MBRL’s tireless dedication to providing open and easy access to knowledge sources for everyone. It seeks to excel in the fields of culture and education while raising awareness about the profound impact of reading on personal, educational, and societal development.

Educational complexes in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah have warmly welcomed “A World Reads.” They believe this initiative aligns perfectly with the UAE’s vision and strategy to nurture a culture of reading and learning. These books serve as a source of inspiration for students, offering them opportunities to explore new worlds and enriching their academic journeys.

“A World Reads” is a collaborative endeavor between Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, local publishers, special-publication institutions, and a select group of authors and writers. The initiative aims to enrich school libraries, educational institutions, centers, clubs, reading cafés, and government departments with a diverse collection of Arabic and English books for all age groups.

It aims to provide free and straightforward access to a wealth of knowledge and information resources.
