Celebrating the Expo 2020 and the UAE Golden Jubilee

What is the holiday season without the smell of baked gingerbread? This festive season the H Dubai will be showcasing a whopping seven and a half meter long Gingerbread. This is to celebrate the UAE’s 50th National Day and the UAE Pavillion at the Expo 2020 Dubai. Last year’s creation was the gingerbread Burj Khalifa.

The enormous, sweet structure features the metro journey from The H Dubai to EXPO 2020 with a two-meter-tall H Dubai building. A four-meter-long Dubai Metro track (starting from World Trade Centre station to the EXPO 2020 metro station, along with the pedestrian walkway). The display also has a 1.4-meter-tall number ‘50’ displayed with UAE Flags. This is to celebrate the United Arab Emirates Golden Jubilee National Day.

Planning and preparation of the masterpiece took eight team members and 700 hours to build. You can find this magnificent masterpiece in the hotel lobby throughout the festive season. The team was led by Executive Chef Laurent Petit and Pastry Chef Heirida Marica of The H Dubai.

Chef Laurent states, “This festive season, we are celebrating EXPO 2020 and the Golden Jubilee which marks a momentous occasion in the region, and we are truly blessed to be a part of this historical event. The display is a mark of our appreciation for everything that Dubai has to offer”.

The beautiful recreation, blends perfectly with the rest of the festive decorations including a 20 feet tall glittering Christmas tree, a Santa’s corner, and a dedicated kid’s zone during the Christmas brunch.
