Revolutionizing Waste Management

Dubai Municipality is taking the lead by testing self-driving robots designed to clean the city’s pristine beach areas.

Dubai is making strides in autonomous technology, with self-driving taxis set to launch in December 2023 and driverless abras.

A recent video, shared by Dubai Municipality on their official X account (formerly Twitter), showcases these autonomous robots efficiently cleaning the bicycle tracks along the beach. The testing phase is currently underway in the scenic locations of Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim.

In a statement released by Dubai Municipality, the introduction of self-driving electric robots aligns with their strategic mission to manage waste effectively, ensure cleanliness, and enhance the aesthetic charm of all public facilities and tourist destinations in Dubai, including the cherished public beaches.

These robots operate autonomously, eliminating the need for human intervention. They are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and sensors that detect their surroundings to prevent collisions.

These eco-friendly vehicles can reach speeds of up to 40 km per hour in normal mode.

The implementation of electric vehicles will contribute to reducing environmental pollution and carbon emissions, demonstrating Dubai Municipality’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly solutions.
