UPS will use the system to charge its fleet of electric vehicles

From X-ray machines to the telephones, throughout history world expos have been home for inventions and technology changing our way of life. Expo 2020 Dubai is no exception to this. As the official logistic partner, UPS is working with DP World, the official premier Global Trade Partner of the Expo. This is to showcase its transition of clean energy. An off-grid charging system is used to power on-site deliveries of UPS’s electric vehicles.

During this six months mega event, UPS will use this system to charge its fleet of electric vehicles. Developed in collaboration with Arrival, at DP World’s FLOW Pavilion.

The charging station is powered by an off-grid Battery Energy Storage System. Sunlight captured by the panels on the pavilion’s roof flows the solar energy through the invertor and stores it in the off-grid battery.

DP World is proud to work with UPS, demonstrating the next generation of delivery vehicles at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The sustainable collaboration is closely aligned with the UAE’s Circular Economy Policy
2021-2031 and its Green Agenda 2030. This supports a key growth engine of Dubai’s economy.

UPS has a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
